Building a wood burning oven "Test fire"

I decided to extend the roof of the car port over the oven which presented a new problem. OI didn't want the roof of the carport to hit the chimney and break something so I added a swivel joint to the base of the chimney. Really just an able iron box about 1/8" larger then the chimney

I will finish this with fire stop caulk really just to keep insulation from dribbling into the oven over time
Next a quick test fire to see how the chimney draws and how much the steel shell moves around

In the event the shell didn't move around at all that I could tell as it heated up so
all is well for the next phase

We finished the roof so we could work in the shade for the rest of the project. This is Texas and shade is a big deal. Since the chimney would need to extend through the roof I made a little roof jack to keep the rain out.

The screws sticking out of the top were temporary by the way. This structure and the hole in the roof are about 1 inch bigger then the chimney to allow the carport to sway a bit without hitting the chimney.
